Who hasn’t dreamed of taking a trip to a magical place like Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, or Vietnam? Well thanks to RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen in the Westfield Mall in Century City, we can experience the tastes, music, sights and sounds of these exotic destinations at our SingularCity Taste of Southeast Asia event on Sunday, April 18 from 1 – 4 p.m.
Join us as we enjoy a Southeast Asian fantasyland with RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen’s plum-and saffron-colored dreamscape of lush Eastern imagery with Burmese Buddha statues, gold leaf-overlaid columns, ornately carved teak panels, even a glittering golden dragon sculpture.
The bar area is one of the most stunning in Los Angeles with an open-air courtyard, and comfy sofas situated around fire pits. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a specialty “rocktail.”
There will be a silent auction to raise funds for Thai Community Arts and Cultural Center that will provide spectacularly costumed dancers to perform for us. These dancers are dedicated to keeping their ethnic heritage alive by practicing and performing enchanting dances hat have been part of their culture for thousands of years.
Auction items include 4-nights at the Napasai Resort, an Orient Express luxury destination in Thailand; 2-nights at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam; a $1,500 shopping spree at Laura M Jewelry; and a $600 gift certificate to use towards room and tax at the Oceana Hotel in Santa Monica.
Bric's in the Westfield Mall in Century City will have a drawing at the party for a 3-piece set of gorgeous, Italian-made luggage – a value $1,500 and it could be yours!! This beautiful set is from their “Life Collection” made from durable stain resistant PVC vinyl that looks exactly like real leather – only washable. The three pieces include a check-in size duffle on wheels with a separate shoe compartment; an overnight duffle in the carry-on size; and a computer bag/briefcase – all beautifully color coordinated in camel with Tuscany leather trim.
Door prizes include a big basket of Godiva Chocolates, a "bento box" filled with Marie Louise Japanese skin care products, and a gift basket from Papyrus.
RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen, besides providing the exciting ambiance of their beautiful restaurant, will offer each guest an exotic signature “rocktail,” and samples of their delicious “rockbite” appetizers. Soft drinks, coffee and tea are complimentary.
