One of the great things about living in Los Angeles is being right next to the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. And if you think the view from the beach is great, try it from the deck of a beautiful sailboat.
SingularCity's Sailing Group and the group’s leader Fergal invite you to join them for an afternoon of sailing on Sunday, June 27 from noon to 4 p.m.
They will leave out of Marina Del Rey and will spend 3 - 4 hours cruising around the Santa Monica Bay in a nice 35 ft. sailing boat.
Space is limited so be sure to make your RSVP early! The cost is $40 per person.
Things to bring:
- A warm jacket
- Hat, shades, sunscreen
- non-slip shoes/sneakers
Once they get a final crew, arrangements will be made to bring food and drinks.
Worried about seasickness? It happens from time to time, and the best way to avoid it is to plan ahead:
- Have a good breakfast the morning of the sail.
- Avoid acidic foods and drinks like orange juice
- If you want to take seasickness pills (like Dramamine) take one the night before and one the morning of the sail
- There is no value in taking pills once you feel queasy
- Ginger is a great remedy - fresh or capsules
- SeaBands effective - wear them at a pressure point on your wrist.
- On the boat, don't drink beer or strong alcohol,but a glass of wine is usually settling.
